Do you face your food journal?

August 28, 2008 Posted in Food Journals, WeeklyQuestions Comments 3 Comments »

If you aren’t a first time reader, you probably know I keep a food journal. You probably also know I’m fairly inconsistence with it now (mostly because I’m not losing, I’m maintaining). What you don’t know is that I almost always start my day journaling. Breakfast and lunch are easy meals for me. However, dinner and nighttime snacking are are another story. As a result I have TONS of half day journals. TONS! Read the rest of this entry »

e-Book Review: Habit Guide

August 26, 2008 Posted in Book Reviews Comments 5 Comments »

e-Book Review: Habit Guide James from Habit Guide asked if I’d be willing to review his (and his brother-in-laws) eBook of the same name. Honestly, I was a little hesitant at first as eBooks are just not my thing. The ones I’ve seen were just really poorly done.

But when I found some time I took a look, and I have to admit I like what I read. It’s not a diet plan or a quick fix. It’s a good hard look at how to make good habits and I think it goes hand and hand with this whole overwhelming diet feeling a lot of us have. Read the rest of this entry »

Dodging Toads and Escaping Storms

August 25, 2008 Posted in Food Journals, Journal, Workouts/Running Comments 10 Comments »

Here’s what I discovered about myself. I LOVE running at dusk. What a great way to end the day. I love seeing the sun going down, reflecting on the day, relaxing and getting in a little “me” time before vegging out with the husband. I love it! The funny thing about running when darkness falls is the nocturnal creatures that take over the streets. I was dodging toads and wiping moths out of my hair the whole way. Book Review: Crack the Fat-Loss Code

August 25, 2008 Posted in Book Reviews Comments 3 Comments »

Book Review: Crack the Fat-Loss Code I received this book a couple of weeks ago for review and was lucky enough to have some time on my Toronto business trip to get started reading it. I swear, I have a stack of books I’ve been “meaning” to read for YEARS!

Anyway, the first few chapters of this book are quite interesting. Read the rest of this entry »

First day of School!

August 25, 2008 Posted in Journal Comments 10 Comments »

Oh My! I sent my little guy off to preschool today! Full day preschool!

I’m very torn about this, it’s weird. On one hand, I’m so excited about this school and all the things he will be learning. Plus being an only child I think it’s really important for him to be around the other kids. But he’s my little buddy! I’m going to miss him SO MUCH! Read the rest of this entry »

Weekend Quote - Do what you can…

August 23, 2008 Posted in Quotes Comments 6 Comments »

This weekend’s quotes is from Theodore Roosevelt.

Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.

This may seem generic at first but I think there is a lot to be learned in it’s simplicity.

How many times have we said things like… Read the rest of this entry »

6 weeks to 6 Miles

August 22, 2008 Posted in Food Journals, Journal, Workouts/Running Comments 14 Comments »

As of tomorrow I’ll have exactly 6 weeks before the Baltimore Marathon. Six weeks to get into shape to run 6 miles. SIX MILES!

I’m more then nervous, especially considering I’ve never run over three miles. So starting tomorrow my training begins. My plan is to focus on time, not distant because when I think of the milage it seems i-m-p-o-s-s-i-b-l-e. Read the rest of this entry »
